I was reading the January 2020 issue of Amateur Photographer, and there was an excellent article in there titled 101 things to photograph before you die.

What a fantastic idea and a great way to push yourself to try new things and develop your own photography skills. Plus, it is a great excuse to go exploring, visit new places and have some fun experiences. So I’m going to try and do it, 101 things to photograph—project 101.

As I complete each one, I’ll update this gallery. So keep an eye on it.

The Rules

The article didn’t actually include rules, but to keep the spirit of things, I have created some.

  • Photos that were taken prior to the start of this project (Jan 2020) don’t count.
  • A photo or a visit can only count as one from the list.
    For example, the Taj Mahal is a Landmark and a UNESCO site. So my visit there will only count as one thing of my choice. A second, separate visit also won’t count! The whole point is to try/visit new places and things, so that would be cheating.
  • It’s ok to replace an image. If I take a better picture of a subject, it’s ok to change. After all, this website is about showcasing my best work.
